MOORE INTERVIEWS MANSON
(Bowling for Columbine Documentary)
MOORE: Do you know the day Columbine happened... the U.S. dropped more bombs on Kosovothan any other time during that war?
MANSON: I do know that... and I think that's really ironice that nobody said, "Maybe the President had an influence on this violent behavior"... No, because that's not the way the media wants to take it and spin it... and turn it into fear. Because then you're watching TV... and turn into fear. Because then you're watching TV... you're watching the news being pumped full of fear... and then there's flood, there's AIDS, there's murder... cut to commercial, buy the ACURA, buy the colgate...if you have bad breath, they're not gonna talk to you. If you got pimples... the girls not gonna fuck you... and it's just campaign... of fear and consumption. And I think it's all based on... Is the whole idea that "Keep everyone afraid and they'll consume". And that's really as simple it can be boiled to.
...When I was a kid, grouwing up... music was the escape. That's the only thing that had no judgements. Put on a record, and it won't yell at you for dressing the way you do. It's gonna make you feel better about it.
.... I definitely can see why they pick me... because I think it's easy to throw my face on TV... because I'm... in the end, sort of a "poster boy" of fear. Because I represent what everyone's afraid of... because I do and say what I want.
... The two byproducts... of that whole tragedy were violence in entertainment and gun control and how perfect that those were the two things we were gonna talk about... with the upcoming elections. Also, then we forgot about Monica Lewinsky. And we forgot about the President shooting bombs overseas. Yet I'm a bad guy... because I sing some tock and roll songs... and who's the bigger influence, the President or Marilyn Manson? I'd like to think me but I'll go with the President.
MOORE: If you're going to talk directly to the kids at Columbine... or that community, what would you say to them if they were here?
MANSON: I wouldn't say a single words to them. I'd listen to what they have to say... That's no one did.

Marilyn Manson is really an intelligent man with a great creative mind.
Too bad he doesn't make films.
hey, if you have time, do visit my blog to vote between two exhibits.
