Nothing Is Personal

It's been a long time since I haven't stayed that late at ABS-CBN Global Ltd. I felt that I am a regular employee again of the company --- even though technically, I am really not.
My stay at Global for almost nine (9) years was such an "experience" in a way that there were "ups and downs" --- well, maybe because during that time as an employee, work for me was a personal matter. That's why I was defensive and combative (I guess) in everything I say and do. As much as possible, I wanted to be "off the wall" or "out of the box" in every concepts I pitched. But it disappointed me whenever the "approvers" of the concepts did not understand nor grasp whatever we presented. In the end, it will just end up in conventional and conservative treatment. However, I've noticed these days that they are now beginning to be daring and experimental with the concepts --- which is a good sign.
Through the years of working for ABS-CBN Global Ltd (or International before the spin off), I've learned so many things. It brought me here for what I am now --- a Freelance --- which is not an easy undertaking and yet challenging... and work now for me is just all work...nothing is personal.

This album was released exclusively in the USSR on Vinyl in 1988 by the Melodiya Label. The original sleevenot contained a message from Paul in Russian (translated below) :

When I was young I asked my dad if people wanted peace. He said to me"Yes, people everywhere want Peace - it's usually politicians that cause trouble". It always seemed to me that's the way the Beatles. Music was admired in the USSR tended to prove his point people the world over have a great deal in common.

In releasing this record exclusively in the Soviet Union, I extend the hand of PEACE and FRIENDSHIP to the people of USSR.

JUMPCUT 2 VIDEO EXPOSITION

JUMPCUT was first launched in 1999 at the now defunct Big Sky Mind as a platform for young Filipino independent filmmakers showcasing works that were not essentially film or video, but rather paintings that indicated a drastic departure from their usual medium. Coming full circle from that attempt to cross-practice in the visual arts, JUMPCUT 2 returns with a collection of video works by filmmakers operating within the loop of the independent art scene and alternative art spaces in Manila such Green Papaya Art Projects, Future Prospects, Furball, and Black Soup . The collection takes on specific references to Pinoy pop culture, and the pleasures and tragedies of everyday life in Manila as a vast underdeveloped metropolis, and reflects a vibrant community that continues to nourish its own independence.
